The Draft for the Valdez Comprehensive Plan Revision was released on April 29, 2021 and can be downloaded at the post below or by picking up a paper copy from the Planning Department Counter at City Hall.
The City of Valdez is accepting public comment on this plan from April 29 through May 20. Comments can be provided digitally by following the links below in this post, or by picking up and providing a marked-up paper copy to the Planning Department in City Hall. When providing comments, we ask that you provide as much clarity as possible, including page number, action reference number, the text you are providing comment on, and justification. Comments provided will be shared with the planning team, the Steering Committee, and the Planning Department for consideration in the development of the Final Comprehensive Plan Revision that will be updated over the summer.
The draft plan has two components.
- Chapters 1-4, factual background information about the community and plan that supports Chapter 5 (Place Types)
- Chapters 6 and 7 (Themes and Making it Happen), provides specific Actions based on the previous chapters and information collected from the public engagement process. Please note that Chapter 7 duplicates the information found in Chapter 6, but with more detail related to the Actions.
