As we continue work during Discovery Month (October) and get input from the 15 focus groups, Commissions, and City Departments, we want to share that there will be several opportunities for public input as we move forward. Much of what we are building off of during Discovery Month is based on community input from July and August and our first public workshop. We are currently collecting more detailed input with the focus groups to provide expertise related to healthcare, public safety, Alaska Native, utilities and roads, visitor industry, youth, and others. These remote meetings have also been open to the public and we have had several citizens attend. The information collected from the focus groups and other meetings will be included in our community survey that will be out in early December; and we look forward to your input. The findings from the survey will help shape the Draft Plan that is expected in April and will include a significant public process to allow community feedback and direction on the Draft Plan. To date, your input has been valuable and we look forward to continue to develop and refine the plan with you. The overall schedule is below.
