This document results from a significant public process over the last ten months. The public process included public meetings, focus group meetings, stakeholder outreach, the community survey, Department meetings, Commission meetings, and review and oversight by the CPAC (Steering Committee), the Planning Department, and Administration Department. This draft plan intends to be a user-friendly document that is easy to read, informative, and provides actionable and achievable items for implementation. </div><div><br /></div><div>Chapters 1-4 provide background on the community, Chapter 5 discusses future Place Type and Land Use, and Chapter 6 covers Themes, Goals, and Actions. Chapter 7 is a more detailed version of Chapter 6 focused on use by the City, developers, and others who may implement the plan.</div><div><br /></div><div>Please take the time to read this document and provide comments (see next posting to how to provide comments). We want to thank everyone in the community who helped craft this plan by participating in meetings, completing the community survey, or providing comments in the past. </div><div><br /></div><div>An introductory presentation of this document will be made to a Joint Work Session of the Planning and Zoning Commission and the City Council on Thursday, April 29 at 6:00 pm (see previous web posting).</div><div><br /></div><div><div style="text-align: center;">Please note the document is 9 MB and formatted as an 11"x17" document.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Paper copies may also be picked up at the Planning Department Counter in City Hall.</div></div><div><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://drive.google.com/file/d/1_HpumginoNYRrzDvJLvHUXXkM4NJYjea/view?usp=sharing">Please click this link to download a pdf version of the Draft Comprehensive Plan</a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEid_hj3Wu4wMxvoxHcucxx5jOT2tBAmB8RIiCO534xlrKn5Mo_PN-8UX2C1wkDjOM_f3u87j3U8Z8Gc9YIEoTXOKEORjgQL8EgJjweispkF8tPzvB4iTEA-lqav-OcGCmemTQS-SYPo6pk/s2040/Cover+Draft+Comprehensive+Plan+Revision.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1320" data-original-width="2040" height="332" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEid_hj3Wu4wMxvoxHcucxx5jOT2tBAmB8RIiCO534xlrKn5Mo_PN-8UX2C1wkDjOM_f3u87j3U8Z8Gc9YIEoTXOKEORjgQL8EgJjweispkF8tPzvB4iTEA-lqav-OcGCmemTQS-SYPo6pk/w513-h332/Cover+Draft+Comprehensive+Plan+Revision.jpg" width="513" /></a></div><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div>Corvus Designhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03997464121094972601noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5958018449326980056.post-33963823415855407292021-04-23T15:29:00.001-07:002021-04-23T15:29:12.371-07:00<p> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5scDTzyGk1teARpou66FDSLn0R0ey857ErHda62D7tXSLt2hfNFwuApfG-9jk3TXOjPK4_MXbaG48WQIoaxupAGY1_2EufQUiGdYGdmJkX6WPvp3sneVdlmj7-RFTTBOZcAHR2M7dJ4A/s940/Comprehensive+Plan+Draft+Presentation+FB.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="788" data-original-width="940" height="401" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5scDTzyGk1teARpou66FDSLn0R0ey857ErHda62D7tXSLt2hfNFwuApfG-9jk3TXOjPK4_MXbaG48WQIoaxupAGY1_2EufQUiGdYGdmJkX6WPvp3sneVdlmj7-RFTTBOZcAHR2M7dJ4A/w479-h401/Comprehensive+Plan+Draft+Presentation+FB.png" width="479" /></a></div><br /><p></p>Corvus Designhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03997464121094972601noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5958018449326980056.post-44415987242278399842021-04-16T12:19:00.001-07:002021-04-20T12:28:50.242-07:00Draft Comprehensive Plan-Public Meeting<p>The release of the draft Comprehensive Plan Revision will be held as part of a special Joint Work Session with the Planning and Zoning Commission and the City Council on Thursday, April 29th at 6 pm at the Council Chambers. These have recently been submitted to the City for first review and will be going to the CPAC for approval in early April. We are still on track for releasing the draft comprehensive plan revision to the public in late April and hosting a public meeting to receive input. We will announce the meeting date shortly after CPAC approval in mid April on this website and other media formats.</p>Corvus Designhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03997464121094972601noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5958018449326980056.post-80003625469208422692021-02-01T10:45:00.000-08:002021-02-01T10:45:28.159-08:00Schedule and Where We Are In The Process<p>Below is an updated graphic that shows where we are in the planning process. Thank you so much for the great response. The findings of the survey can be downloaded as a pdf at the link below. This survey is one of six different forms of public engagement that were developed and will be used in the refinement of the Comprehensive Plan Revision; and is not intended to be the sole source of community direction. The CPAC and City Council recently reviewed and approved the findings. We hope you enjoy reading the results.</p><p style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://drive.google.com/file/d/1zFNSK6zG_sysqCUfAlZZKP--5vlDFczY/view?usp=sharing">Click link to download pdf version of the survey results</a></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXMyydUjyJ_KpANqVQSJ5sfQDgnRgCUMP1MUg__Rx75MqZEo5v9AspdB82pi1ej13Js5PWiWDPtGqb_dhNLlVXq3dt0v6-TefJKa89CZ2vZqWZsaP5PDEN7VwCpKD2tzzCBTe1-MsIK5E/s1320/Pages+from+Final+Valdez+Alaska+Comp+Plan+Survey+updated+%25281%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1320" data-original-width="1020" height="462" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXMyydUjyJ_KpANqVQSJ5sfQDgnRgCUMP1MUg__Rx75MqZEo5v9AspdB82pi1ej13Js5PWiWDPtGqb_dhNLlVXq3dt0v6-TefJKa89CZ2vZqWZsaP5PDEN7VwCpKD2tzzCBTe1-MsIK5E/w357-h462/Pages+from+Final+Valdez+Alaska+Comp+Plan+Survey+updated+%25281%2529.jpg" width="357" /></a></div></div><br /><p style="text-align: center;"><br /></p>Corvus Designhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03997464121094972601noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5958018449326980056.post-581284098058793982021-01-04T14:41:00.033-08:002021-01-25T18:26:46.195-08:00Community Survey Update<p>Happy New Year!</p><p>We are pleased to report that 468 Valdez citizens participated in the community survey.
